Ichthyophobia

What is Ichthyophobia?

Ichthyophobia - Fear of fish.

Symptoms of Ichthyophobia

In common with all other phobias, the animal phobic experiences intense, irrational and unreasonable fear when confronted with his feared subject or can only endure its presence with great difficulty. The fear may produce physiological responses or induce symptoms of panic.

The nature of the fear in animal phobia has been the subject of intense study and several factors appear to have emerged. Irrespective of the initial reasons behind the development of the phobia, the fear appears to be related to a series of (mistaken) negative beliefs (cognitive factors) that interact with each other.
